President John F. Kennedy is arguably one of Americas greatest U.S. Presidents. Elected in 1960, he brought an energy and grace to the Oval Office (John F. Kennedy: World War II Naval Hero to President). John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated in Houston, Texas on November 22, 1963. He was commonly known by his initials, JFK. John F. Kennedy possessed many qualities that helped him become a great President. He had incredible charisma, was highly competitive, a risk taker and he was very courageous. claim When President Kennedy was assassinated the United States became immediately immersed in a state of mourning for this great leader. John F. Kennedy was full of charisma. This was definitely part of his leadership style. He was able to win over the people of the United States with his charm and become one of the most well known Presidents. In an essay written concentrating on JFKs leadership qualities, it was written, What makes a charismatic leader different from others is his vision to encapsulate obedience of the followers. Using unconventional methods allows a charismatic leader to convince followers that they are not the ?normal leaders-they are new, different, and inspiring. Trust and credibility comes from the willingness of these people to sacrifice themselves for the betterment of people and organizations. Charismatic leaders usually have high follower expectations, and are able to encourage these expectations by using unconventional behaviours to establish credibility, sensitivity, and appeal (John F. Kennedy and His Leadership Style History Essay). A study of President Kennedy and his many traits could not overlook his competitive nature. One of the most common personality traits found among presidents is a highly competitive nature. This makes sense, as any person who wants to become a president has to be constantly striving towards the top. As a result of wanting to be president, John F. Kennedy was known as being highly competitive. Whether this was a simple game or the presidency of the United States, John F. Kennedy always put his heart and soul in what he did (John F. Kennedy Personality Traits). Data #1 He was highly competitive and rarely settled for anything in his life other than the best. Is this a continuation of competitive? John F. Kennedy, himself, stated There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-rang risks and costs of comfortable inaction. data #2 JFK believed and lived by the thought that a person would not get anywhere unless they were willing to take risks. The trick is knowing what risks to take and what risks to not take. The Cuban Missile Crisis helped solidify ?risk taker as a trait of John F. Kennedy. Along with a series of other risks taken both in his presidency and during his election, John F. Kennedy was not adverse to taking risks when it benefited himself and his country (John F. Kennedy Personality Traits). Data #3President Kennedy knew, also, when not to take risks. Even though it caused problems with some of his staff, he did not back down. Many people admired John F. Kennedy for his courage and bravery. He exhibited these qualities even before he was elected President of the United States. Jack joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 and two years later was sent to the South Pacific, where he was given command of a Patrol-Torpedo (PT) boat. In August 1943, a Japanese destroyer struck the craft, PT-109, in the Solomon Islands. Kennedy helped some of his marooned crew back to safety, and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism (History.com Staff). Data #1 After he became president, JFK continued to exemplify the great trait of courage. At one particular time, he found himself at odds with the Soviet Union and its volatile leader, Nikita Khrushchev. After a U.S.-backed invasion of communist Cuba in April, 1961 ended in disaster at the Bay of Pigs, Khrushchev concluded that JFKs administration was weak. In the autumn of 1962, the Soviet Union began shipping nuclear missiles to Cuba, from there they could be aimed at t he United States from just a few hundred miles away. When JFK found out about these missiles, he imposed a naval quarantine on Cuba and pondered an invasion (SparkNotes Editors). Data #2 needs backing between these two datas. After two weeks, where the entire world was on the edge of nuclear war, Khrushchev finally agreed to remove the missiles, ending the crisis (SparkNotes Editors).Data #3 There is no doubt that his courage during this time in history saved our country many lives and much destruction. Most people considered John F. Kennedy to be a really good person. A lot of people liked him as President of the United States of America. His predominate characteristics helped him to win over many voters and citizens of the United States. His incredible charisma helped him foster the trust of the people. John F. Kennedys competitive nature drove him to constantly strive towards the top of whatever he was endeavoring. He was willing to be a risk taker knowing that he would not achieve his goals if he was willing to take the risks. The courage he exhibited in making the hard decisions was part of his nature and one that helped him to become a beloved President of the United States of America.

Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation Free Essay Example, 3000 words
Climate change and global warming on the planet earth is usually caused when greenhouse gas emissions released from the burning of fossil fuels such as carbon dioxide is trapped in the atmosphere, which forms an impenetrable layer, which withholds the heat emanating from the sun. Evidence from respected researches worldwide now shows that there is marked a change in the amount and composition of greenhouse gases within the atmosphere. The continued build-up of this heat from the sun makes the earth to warm up continuously over a period of time that leads to the systematic change of the weather patterns which eventually change how the climate is. Though the debate on how fast, the magnitude and the consequences of climate change continue to rage, what is clear to all is that there is the occurrence of climate change and this has the effect of on how animal and plant life will be run in the future. This is so because there is now evidence of the exact causes of the climate change and its effects, which requires that the earth and its occupants adopt a strategy to help in mitigation against the risks posed by global warming and climate change (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 2007). We will write a custom essay sample on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation or any topic specifically for you Only $17.96 $11.86/pageorder now Through the natural cycle of carbon release and absorption, the world ecosystem including the plants, soil and the water masses, there is a release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This coupled with the release of carbon dioxide from the activities of human beings leads to a continued build-up of the unwanted greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Thus, leading to the permanent shift in the weather patterns of a place which leads to changes in the climate of the concerned place and the earth at large (U. S. Global Change Research Program and Karl, 2009). This build-up of carbon dioxide lends credence to the fact that the current level of increases in global warming on the planet earth is due to the increased levels of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases such as methane which are majorly produced through burning of fossil fuels due to the activities of human beings (National Research Council, 2011a).

Childhood Development And Child Development Essay
My topic is Early Childhood Development and this is the finding to know if attending pre-school or head start would help the childââ¬â¢s development and have the child more prepared for kindergarten. This topic is based on the social learning theory and how each family teaches their child differently. I have chosen to do my topic on Early Childhood Development because of my practicum being a developmental center (Inspire), also because I have a passion in working with families and children. This appeals to me because I know that if the families enroll their child in the pre-school program, the child will benefit from it and will be more prepared for kindergarten. Usually agencies like this prefer low-income parents and if you meet the requirements, there is a good possibility that the child will attend. I have met families that would like their child to attend because they know that it is a better outcome for them, but in their household, they have a high income. Some research says that the children that attended early head start programs were more development ready for kindergarten. Inspire has a Region Head Start (RHS) which is for 3-5-year-old children and this program helps the children socialize with others, solve problems and have other experiences, which will help them beco me more self-confident (Inspire, 2016). Essay about Should Illegal Immigrants Be Granted Amnesty
According to CNN, 12 million illegal immigrants currently reside in the United States, which is approximately equivalent to the populations of Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, or Michigan. Removing all 12 million illegal immigrants, then, would be like removing one of the above states, a pretty incredulous task. In practical terms, it is not possible to send that many immigrants back to their respective countries efficiently and economically. This raises the issue of what to do with the immigrants that are already here, and how to increase security to keep the number of illegal immigrants entering under control. It may be feasible to grant citizenship to those illegal immigrants that have been in the United States for some time, however;â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This is amnesty, and I oppose itâ⬠¦ Amnesty would be unfair to those who were here lawfully, and it would invite further waves of illegal immigrationâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Additionally, Robert Byrd (Senate) stated in his exce rpts from his Address to the United States Senate, ââ¬Å"To capriciously grant amnesty to three million immigrants who circumvented these processes, who have resided and worked in this country illegally, sends exactly the wrong messageâ⬠. The wrong message being that amnesty only invites more illegal immigrants into the country without reprimanding the ones who are currently here. However, the secondary problem here, as Bush recognized and stated is that, ââ¬Å"â⬠¦it is neither wise, nor realistic to round up millions of people, many with deep roots in the United States, and send them across the borderâ⬠. Admittedly, amnesty seems to manifest several problems, mainly with continued unlawful immigration, however; it does not make sense to send millions of integrated immigrants out of the country. Instead, a partial amnesty could be granted, which would be fairer to lawful immigrants, but also give illegal immigrants a chance to lawfully obtain citizenship and contin ue living in the United States. AJ Davis Department Store Part B AJ Davis Department Store Introduction The following information will show whether or not the managerââ¬â¢s speculations are correct. He wants to know the following information: Is the average mean greater than $45,000? Does the true population proportion of customers who live in an urban area exceed 45%? Is the average number of years lived in the current home less than 8 years? Is the credit balance for suburban customers more than $3200? Hypothesis testing and confidence intervals for situations A-D are calculated. A. We will write a custom essay sample on Aj Davis Department Store Part B or any similar topic only for you Order Now THE AVERAGE (MEAN) ANNUAL INCOME WAS LESS THAN $45,000. Solution: Step 1: Null Hypothesis: The average (mean) annual income was equal to $45,000. H_0: ? =45,0000 Step2: Alternate Hypothesis: The average (mean) annual was less than $50,000. H_a: ? 45 , a z-test for the mean will be used to test the given hypothesis. As for the alternative hypothesis, which is Ha:? 0. 45 and the given test is a one-tailed (upper-tailed) z-test. Step 4: Critical Value and Rejection Region: The critical value for significance level is ? =0. 05. The upper tail z-test is 1. 45. Rejection Region: Reject H_0,if z-statistic1. 645. Step 5: Assumptions: The sample size in this experiment is n 0. 4 95% Lower Sample X N Sample p Bound Z-Value P-Value 1 21 50 0. 420000 0. 305190 0. 29 0. 386 Step 7: Interpretation: According to the calculations, the p-value is 0. 386. This value is larger than the significance level of 0. 05. Therefore, we will not reject the null hypothesis. There is no sufficient evidence to sup port the claim that the true population proportion of customers who live in an urban area is greater than 40%. Based on the results provided by MINITAB below, the lower 95% confidence limit is 0. 28. Since 0. 42 is greater than the 95% lower confidence limit, hence, we cannot support the claim that the true population proportion of customers who live in an urban area is greater than 45%. Confidence Interval: Test and CI for One Proportion Sample X N Sample p 95% CI 1 21 50 0. 420000 (0. 283195, 0. 556805) ? C. THE AVERAGE (MEAN) NUMBER OF YEARS LIVED IN THE CURRENT HOME IS LESS THAN 8 YEARS. Solution: Step 1: Null Hypothesis: The average (mean) number of years lived in the current home is equal to 8 years. H_0: ? =8 Step 2: Alternate Hypothesis: The average (mean) number of years lived in the current home is less than 8 years. H_a: ? 50 requires that the z-test for mean be used to test the given hypothesis. The alternative hypothesis is Ha:? 3200 Step 3: Test Statistic: z= Following the provided information, the Significance Level is ? =0. 05. The alternative hypothesis is Ha: ? 3200; therefore, the given test is a one-tailed (upper-tailed) z-test. Step 4: Critical Value and Rejection Region: The critical value for significance level ? =0. 5 for an upper-tailed z-test is given as 1. 645. Rejection Region: Reject H_0,if z-statistic1. 645. Step 5: Assumptions: The sample size in this speculation is greater than 30, therefore, The Central Limit Theorem (CLT) will apply, and no assumptions need to be made. Step 6: Calculation of test statistic: One-Sample Z: Credit Balance ($) Test of mu = 3200 vs 3200 The assumed standard deviation = 742. 365 95% Lower Variable N Mean StDev SE Mean Bound Z P Credit Balance ($) 15 4675 742 192 4360 1. 96 0. 025 Step 7: Interpretation: According to the above results from MINITAB, the p-value of 0. 038 is smaller than the significance level of 0. 05; consequently, the null hypothesis will be rejected. There is sufficient evidence to support the claim that the average (mean) credit balance for suburban customers is more than $3200. Based on the results from MINITAB, which are provided below, the significance level is 0. 05; therefore, there is sufficient evidence to support the claim that the average (mean) credit balance for suburban customers is more than $3200. MINITAB reveals that the 95% lower confidence limit is 4469; therefore, 3200 is smaller than the 95% lower confidence limit, which means that the claim can be supported regarding the average (mean) credit balance for suburban customers is more than $3200. Confidence Interval One-Sample Z The assumed standard deviation = 742. 365 N Mean SE Mean 95% CI 50 4675 105 (4469, 4881) Conclusion After performing hypothesis testing and confidence intervals on each speculation, we can conclude that from the sample of 50 customers from AJ DAVIS department store, the average (mean) annual income is less than $50,000. We can also conclude that the number of customers that live in urban areas are less than or equal to 40%. The average number of years their customers have lived in their current home is more than 13. Question: Define the Provide Leadership Across the Organization. Answer: 1: Part A: Meeting plan Step 1 Firstly, as a supervisor of CliniCloud, I will have to welcome the newly appointed people within the organization. In the welcome process, I will have to introduce myself briefly. Then I will have to focus on the introduction of CliniCloud. I will also have to share mission, vision and aim of the organization. For instance, the company is focusing on to increase its sales volume to up to 10% and also aims to provide the best services at the store. I will also have to share that the future goal of CliniCloud is to become one of the fastest growing retail organizations in Australia so that new appointed employees can feel motivated in joining the organization. Step 2 After the introduction, I will have to share the ethics and values of CliniCloud. I will have to share that the company is committed to provide the best possible products at the cheapest price in the market. However, I will also share the information that CliniCloud will compromise with the business ethics in order to provide products at the cheapest price. In fact, CliniCloud will focus on the maintenance of positive relationship with all its suppliers. Step 3 In the third step, I will have to engage with the employees to understand their career aim and objectives. Furthermore, I will have to provide a proper career path for the employees so that they can feel motivated to associate with the organization for a longer period. I will also have to share the information that CliniCloud will provide for the professional development of the employees. Step 4 In the fourth step, I will highlight the significance of team development for the organizational developmental process. Therefore, I will have to consult with each of the employees in order to describe their role in the team. I believe role specification will reduce the possibility of miscommunication that eventually improve the cohesiveness among the team members. Step 5 After that, I have to encourage the employees to maintain diversity in the team. Since, I believe diversity in a team actually include different perspectives. Therefore, it can be beneficial at the time of facing difficulties in the organizational workplace. Furthermore, I will also encourage all the employees to share any concern with me so that I can refer that to the higher authority. I will share different fun initiatives of CliniCloud so that organization can able to maintain positive work atmosphere. Step 6 I will also highlight different risk factors that can actually affect the business process of CliniCloud. I will also have to share the best possible way to reduce the risk factors. Step 7 In the final step of the meeting, I will provide chance for the employees to ask any questions related to work and their professional career. I will make sure no confusion remains in the mind of the employees. 1: As per the article by Chhokar, Brodbeck House (2013) leaders has critical role to play in enhancing the performance level of the employees. In fact, studies have highlighted that there can be no leadership when there is no influence. In organizational structure, leaders focus on the effectiveness of the teamwork so that organization can actually able to fulfill its objectives. In CliniCloud, management focuses on the teamwork so that employees can able to think positively in performing their responsibilities. Furthermore, decision-making strategies of leaders also play a crucial role in the motivational level of the employees. Therefore, it creates direct impact on the performance level of the employees. In the meeting, I have mentioned that CliniCloud utilize opinions of the employees before making any crucial decision in the organizational work process. Therefore, I have found that it has created positive vibe on the mind of new employees. Furthermore, leaders are responsible for developing organizational culture. As per the article by Avolio Yammarino (2013), organizational culture can actually influence employees to give their best at the workplace. In meeting, I have mentioned that CliniCloud maintain a positive work culture so that employees does not feel demotivated towards their work. 2: In the meeting, I have identified that our existing work culture is quite effective in motivating all the employees towards their responsibilities. However, I have also found some suggestion that can be taken in to consideration in improving the present work culture in order to enhance its position in the market place. Furthermore, as we are developing a new branch it is also important to maintain the same level of work culture in the new branch as well. Otherwise, it actually may affect the overall business process of the organization (Beck Cowan, 2014). I have found two important suggestions to enhance the workplace culture. The meeting emphasizes on the effective utilization of the better communication tools in order to maintain coordination between new and old branches. Another suggestion is to focus more on the employee concern and problems. I believe it is expected that employees will face difficulties in running the operational process at the new branch effectively. Therefore, superiors will have to guide employees in an appropriate way that eventually will create positive impact on the workplace culture. 3: I believe gaining trust of the employees is a long-term process. Therefore, I will follow a systematic procedure so that employees do not have to face too much difficulty at the time of performing their responsibilities. First of all, I have to assess the performance level of all the employees in order to identify specific needs. Furthermore, I will have to maintain continues communication process so that employees can able to share the difficulties that they are facing at the workplace in a much more effective way. I also have to ensure that all the employees can able to have effective support from the management so that they feel motivated towards their work. I also will utilize democratic decision-making strategy so that employees can feel themselves as an integral part of the organization.
